Who DID contact me from DISH Network?

Two guesses. Starts with "tele" and ends with "marketer".

Right. While I was waiting patiently for someone from DISH to admit that I existed and that they actually did value my current participation with them, they telemarketed me.

They didn't even have the decency to dedicate a telemarketer to the phone. I got a recorded message telling me about a wonderful $30 a month package that would allow me to stop paying higher rates to the cable company. If I was interested, press 1, I was told. I did. I was put on hold for the next available operator.

The telemarketer who came online didn't bother introducing himself or his company, so I asked. "Who do you work for?" "DISH Network."

So, DISH Network cannot bother removing the phone numbers of existing customers from their telemarketing lists, much less remove the numbers listed on the Federal Do Not Call list. They called me at my home phone, which is in their database and how they identify me when I call them. My home phone is listed in the DNC list. Either should have been sufficient to get my number off their list. Neither was. DISH Network just doesn't care.
